Dear Dr Bart Wallet I appreciated the argument you put forward in your recent article but would make a couple of points . Please forgive me if I have misunderstood your position as I have to use google translate to read the article in translation as my Dutch is almost non-existent. I am in agreement with you that 'places of reflection' are needed, and wish to correct what I think is a misrepresentation of the petition I have put forward. I would like more reflection, study, discussion and prayer about the legacy of Christian anti-judaism, and therefore want the Wittenberg Judensau to be moved to a study-centre/museum/where it can be more appropriately focused on. At present it defiles sacred space and poisons public space. A few stop to reflect, but most ignore or pass by without taking any further actions. I am arguing for 'ecclesial repentance' (see http://www.bloomsbury.com/us/ecclesial-repentance-9780567523686/) and the ending of the ongoing perpetuation of the offence that continues to be committed. That to me seems to be appropriate and reasonable, and not iconoclastic. The evidence of ecclesial repentance will be the removal of the Judensau from its present position and its location somewhere better that draws more attention to it, not less, but in an appropriate way. I would be most interested in your response if you are willing to give one. With best regards Dr. Richard Harvey
