Petition:

Animal Life Savers has been adopting thousands of animals out of the North Bergen Petsmart for close to 11 yrs. It is an organization that I am proud to be part of as a volunteer, foster and adopter. On February 29th, we (ALS/Volunteers) had to go to the store to remove the cats in the catroom because ALS was informed that the organization was suspended pending an investigation. While the investigation was on going, ALS President made attempts to contact corporate to discuss the situation but received no response to her phone calls or e-mails. Four days later, ALS President received an e-mail from Petsmart Charities alleging non-compliance of Petsmart Charities policies and procedures. They (Petsmart) alleged that ALS was having "shot clinics" in the Petsmart parking lot which is absolutely false. It stated that ALS was terminated from having the organization in the store. 

If you know ALS President, you know she is always willing to help our community. In doing so, she was falsely accused of having a "shot clinic" in the parking lot and was never given a chance to tell her side of this situation. For over 15 yrs (before Pestmart opened) Animal Life Savers meets once a month with adopters, foster homes, and family pets to pick them up in the Petsmart parking lot to coordinate spay, neuter and transport for pets. The February spay/neuter pick up was videotapped and forwarded to corporate where they made wrong assumptions.

It was a shock to all and disappointing because it affects being able to help adopt out as many animals as possible. Kitten season is around the corner and our community will suffer since it depends on ALS for assistance, rescue, low cost spay/neuter and advice on helping defenseless animals. Instead of having a meeting and discussing this situation, Petmart took drastic measures and terminated ALS.

We, the undersigned, request that Petsmart CEO, Petsmart Charities, North Bergen Management and all those involved in this decision, have a meeting and discuss this situation with ALS President to clear up all misunderstandings.  We respectfully request they discuss any changes/updates to the policies and procedures with ALS so that everyone knows what is expected so their partnership can continue for the sake of our rescue animals. We also request that Animal Life Savers, Inc be reinstated into the Petsmart Charities catroom and continue adoptions. 

Petsmart Charities prides themselves on caring for animals, now it's the time to show it because by terminating Animal Life Savers, they are showing us the opposite.   All ALS volunteers and supporters await your decision.
