Nicholas Kristof, a graduate of Harvard and Oxford, winner of two Pulitzer Prizes, and a columnist for the New York Times, has written an article admitting that "liberals" (left-wingers or socialists in British parlance) are intolerant, particularly in academia, and that this intolerance impoverishes universities and prevents them from fulfilling the aim of academia, which is to pursue free research and many-sided debate. This admission is a welcome one and certainly applicable to the case of Professor Lopez.
