Petition to the United States Congress:
Protect National Monuments in Perpetuity

We, the undersigned, call upon every member of the United States Congress to take immediate and enduring action to permanently protect all national monuments from mining, drilling, and industrial development.

National monuments exist to preserve the cultural, historical, ecological, and spiritual heritage of our country. These landscapes were set aside for the public good—not for private profit. Attempts to shrink or open these protected lands to extractive industries represent an unforgivable betrayal of public trust and a threat to sacred and irreplaceable places.

We demand that Congress:

• Enact permanent federal protections that prohibit all new mining, drilling, and industrial operations within national monument boundaries;
• Safeguard the Antiquities Act from future misuse or rollback, ensuring that no President can unilaterally reduce national monument protections;
• Recognize and uphold Indigenous stewardship, affirming the sovereignty of Native Nations and the sanctity of their ancestral sites;
• Block any legislation or administrative action aimed at reducing monument lands or weakening their protected status;
• Invest in preservation and access, making monuments a foundation for public education, biodiversity, climate resilience, and cultural respect.

This is a defining moment. Will we protect the lands that tell our stories and hold our collective memory—or will we allow them to be sacrificed for short-term gain?

We stand united in defense of all national monuments. We demand that Congress act now to ensure these sacred places remain untouched, undeveloped, and protected—forever.
