We, the undersigned residents of Cedar City and surrounding areas, respectfully urge our city leaders and RAP Tax committee to support the creation of a dedicated community dog park in Cedar City.

🛠 What We’re Asking For:
We are proposing a 5-acre fenced dog park . This location is pending confirmation from the city planning engineers but the proposed location is Near the parking entrance to the "C" trail, right next to the East Bench Trail. 

🐶 Why Cedar City Needs a Dog Park:
Cedar City currently has no official dog park, which leads to dogs using regular parks and sports fields.
This has resulted in conflicts, safety concerns, and excessive waste, including restrictions recently placed on dogs in some areas.
A dedicated dog park would provide a safe, clean, and enriching space for dogs to exercise off-leash — and allow owners to gather, socialize, and build community.
💡 Funding and Cost:
This project would be funded through RAP Tax (Recreation, Arts & Parks)  a voter approved initiative designed specifically to improve community spaces like this. There are no additional taxes for this, the proposal is suggesting WHAT we may allocate SOME of the existing funds set aside for parks and recreation.

The plan includes separate areas for large dogs, small dogs, and all dogs, shade trees, benches, water access, waste stations, agility features,  all designed with community needs such as water conservation, disability access, using native trees and soil where appropriate and safety in mind.
