Petition to Stop the Genocide in Geneina, Darfur

We, the undersigned, are deeply concerned about the ongoing genocide in Geneina, Darfur, Sudan, which has resulted in unimaginable suffering for the people of Darfur. We cannot stand idly by while innocent civilians continue to be subjected to violence, displacement, and loss of life.

Recent evidence and reports from the ground in Darfur, including the attack on a hospital and horrific footage of mass killings, paint a horrifying picture of the situation. The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have been involved in these atrocities, and the Sudanese government has failed to take meaningful action to stop the violence.

Since the outbreak of this genocide, thousands of people have lost their lives, and nearly a million have been displaced. These are not just statistics; these are real people with families, dreams, and lives that have been shattered.

We believe that the international community has a moral and ethical obligation to intervene under the United Nations' Responsibility to Protect (R2P) principle, established after past genocides like those in Rwanda and Bosnia. It is time to invoke this responsibility once again for the people of Darfur.

We urgently call upon world leaders and international organizations, including the United Nations, African Union, and European Union, to take immediate and decisive action to end the genocide in Geneina, Darfur. We urge the Sudanese government to fulfill its responsibility in protecting its citizens.

We demand that the international community:

1. Condemn the atrocities occurring in Geneina, Darfur, and acknowledge them as a genocide.
   
   
2. Deploy peacekeeping forces and humanitarian aid to ensure the protection of civilians and the provision of critical assistance.

4. Initiate an independent investigation into the perpetrators of these crimes and hold them accountable.
5. Facilitate negotiations for a lasting peace and stability in the region.
