To the Leadership of Sephora:

We, the undersigned, urge Sephora to discontinue the sale and promotion of Huda Beauty products in all stores and online due to concerning political statements and social media activity by Huda Kattan, founder and public face of Huda Beauty.

In eJanuary 2026, Huda Kattan posted and shared content related to the political situation in Iran — including footage from a pro-government gathering that was widely reported to be organized or backed by the Islamic Regime. This was shared at a time when 90 million Iranians took to the streets and were protesting across the country against systemic oppression, for human rights, and for freedom, a movement that has been one of the largest sustained protest waves in the nation’s history.

Despite global reporting and widespread documentation of the regime’s violence against protestors, Kattan stated that she “didn’t have enough information” to fully condemn the Iranian regime. This reluctance to take a clear stance, coupled with the amplification of a state-backed rally, stood in stark contrast to the voices of millions of Iranians risking their lives to oppose the regime and demand fundamental freedoms.

Many members of the Iranian diaspora, human rights advocates, and Sephora customers have expressed that continued affiliation with a brand whose founder has amplified misrepresentations of a deeply consequential human rights movement damages Sephora’s commitment to community, dignity, and inclusivity.

We therefore call on Sephora to:

1. Immediately remove all Huda Beauty products from Sephora retail locations and digital platforms worldwide.
2. Issue a public statement reaffirming Sephora’s commitment to human rights, informed engagement with political contexts, and respectful representation of communities affected by conflict and repression.
3. Review and clarify Sephora’s policies on partnerships with brands whose leadership’s public actions or statements risk harm to Sephora’s diverse customer base.
    

Sephora has long positioned itself as a champion of diversity, inclusion, and respect. Taking a clear stand in response to this situation would reaffirm those values and protect the integrity of the Sephora community.
