Dear Friends,
Tomorrow Tuesday, 18 August is the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) meeting at St Patrick’s Cathedral Parish. It will be attended by Bishop Long and Fr Peter Williams. In the agenda includes the demands of this petition.
On the 6th August 2020, St Patrick's Cathedral Parish parishioners stood peacefully in silent protest within the church grounds before the Parish Finance Committee (PFC) meeting. This action was to demand the following:
- Transparency per our petition
- Engagement between Bishop Long and the laity
- Resignation of Anthony Khoury as Parish Finance Committee due to conflict of interest.
These demands were also brought up by the PFC members during the meeting.
As of this writing, the demands were disregarded by Fr Peter Williams and the PFC chair, Anthony Khoury.
There were many parishioners standing in silent protest that day which seemed to overwhelm Fr Peter Williams that he asked Fr Chris and Mili to inform the parishioners to vacate the premises, otherwise he will call the police.
We who are praying the rosary at 7 pm arrived and prayed outside the cloister while the meeting was being held.
We are inviting the parishioners and laity to stand quietly and peacefully tomorrow, Tuesday 18 August, within St Patrick’s Parramatta church grounds from 6:30 pm to 6:50 pm to show support for this petition and for the PPC agenda. We will then start praying the rosary at 7 pm while the meeting is being held.
Come help us bring darkness into the Light. It is only through prayer that we could win. Help us pray for our church leaders and shepherds so they could lead with the Holy Spirit in honesty and accountability.
St Patrick’s Parish Pastoral Council and the Parish Finance Committee have demanded transparency in support of this petition. Let us support them too.
Please show reverence to our Bishop and maintain social distancing.
See you at St Pat's Parramatta Cathedral Parish grounds tomorrow. Don't forget to bring your rosary if you are joining the prayer at 7 pm.
