Petition To Save The Church And Our Neighborhood

The Issue

We are signing this petition to save the Lighthouse Bible Baptist Church at 4064 E. Live Oak, Arcadia Ca 91006. This building dates to 1934 and was converted into a unique Mid-Century Modern church that has been an iconic cornerstone of our neighborhood since the current community was built.

The latest congregation has actively revitalized this church, become an important part of our community, and reflects the ethnically and culturally diverse families of our working-class single family home neighborhood.

The current owner/developer is Philip Chan of LIV investments, PDS Studio, and Sunny Construction of Arcadia. It is his intention to immediately demolish our historic community church and build a 5-story 73 unit apartment complex towering over our houses.

Our neighborhood of narrow congested streets and barely adequate infrastructure cannot survive such massive overdevelopment dropped into our community. It will have a huge negative impact on traffic, parking, infrastructure, safety, property values, privacy, views, and will encourage developers to swallow up our entire community. We ask that these plans be stopped immediately!
