Petition to save Queens Together

The Issue

Queens Together, a non-profit dedicated to feeding the food insecure and supporting local restaurants in Queens, is in peril. The Queens Economic Development Corporation (QEDC) has abruptly terminated, without cause, its vital fiscal sponsorship agreement with Queens Together, jeopardizing crucial community services. This decision has cast a shadow over Queens Together's future, threatening to end its significant contributions to the borough, especially during the holiday season, a time of heightened need and community solidarity.

A swift solution is needed: QEDC must reinstate the fiscal agreement with Queens Together. This partnership is crucial for their mission as a restaurant-driven food relief organization, having fed over 400,000 people and supported numerous local restaurants since COVID-19 began.

We demand Queens Economic Development Corporation (QEDC) reverse its decision and continue its fiscal sponsorship of Queens Together. This urgent action will sustain a key pillar of support in Queens. Ensuring the continuation of essential services, led by Executive Director Jonathan Forgash, is vital for the restaurants and communities of Queens, New York. We ask that you sign this petition and share it with friends and family.

Extra help requested: Please use letterhead and write a letter of support, including a personal story of why Queens Together is important, and demand funds be restored. Email a PDF version of your letter to contact@queenstogether.org.

This petition and letters of support will be submitted to Seth Bornstein, Executive Director at the Queens Economic Development Corp.
