Friends, we end 2023 with gratitude. This holiday season, we all worked together feeding neighbors, supporting local restaurants, and uplifting our community.
Thanks to the International Food Expo at the New York Hall of Science on November 9, we raised $50,000 for food relief programming. That money, along with public funding helped over 4,000 families prepare their Thanksgiving meals with turkeys, halal chickens, and pernil. That money also allowed us to partner with local restaurants to deliver individual meals and grocery bags that helped feed thousands more. Some of our restaurant partners we able to serve holiday meals to senior citizens, veterans, and guests from area migrant shelters. Anything is possible when people show up to do good. Let's keep it going.
We ask for your help one last time before the year ends. Over the next few days, the SBA will be making its final decision about the fate of our funding grant. They need to hear about the work Queens Together has done in partnership with the people of Queens and why the money needs to stay with Queens Together. Please send letters of support to contact@queenstogether.org. Your letters will be sent to the SBA and elected officials by Tuesday morning.
Your letter should include: Why you support Queens Together, a personal story of your work or connection with us, and why it is so important that Queens Together continues its work with the people and restaurants of Queens, New York.
Thank you and best wishes in the new year,
Jonathan Forgash and the team at Queens Together
