I am writing this petition with a heavy heart to rally support and save our cherished daycare center, which is facing imminent closure. As a working parent residing in Washburn Maine, I have personally experienced the valuable role this daycare plays in our community. It not only provides a safe and nurturing environment for our children but also allows us to pursue our careers without compromising their well-being.

The impending closure of this day care facility (set to close 09/29/2023) would have devastating consequences for countless families like mine. Without it, many parents like myself will be forced to make the heart wrenching decision of quitting their jobs. Parents could be left scrambling to find alternative care arrangements that may not meet their children’s needs adequately. 

This daycare has been an integral part of our community for 3 years, offering high-quality early childhood education and care services. Its dedicated staff members are trained professionals who ensure the safety, growth, and development of our little ones while fostering essential social skills.

Furthermore, studies consistently demonstrate the positive impact that quality early childhood education has on children's cognitive abilities, emotional well-being, and long-term success. According to a report by The National Institute for Early Education Research, access to high-quality preschool programs significantly improves school readiness outcomes among children from diverse backgrounds.

Closing down this vital institution would not only disrupt the lives of working parents but also hinder educational opportunities for young minds in our community. We cannot allow such an essential resource to vanish due to financial constraints or lack of support.
