Ahoj! Wanted to let everyone know: There are only two more MTA Committee & Board meetings of the year before the formal contract on the Newburgh-Beacon ferry and bus expires. Mark your calendars for Wednesday November 19th at 9am (and 1:30pm) and December 15th & 17th.
If you can, sign up to share why the ferry matters to you personally, how losing it would affect your commute or quality of life or why the ferry benefits the wider region.
The MTA responds when communities show up. Public comments become part of the official record and can influence decisions. We know why the Newburgh–Beacon ferry is important! We know it connects people to jobs and housing, reduces congestion and traffic, shares access to recreation, and in general keeps the region moving. If the MTA doesn’t hear from you, both riders and residents, they may not understand how essential it is.
Please sign up to speak at this link at 8:30am https://www.mta.info/transparency/board-and-committee-meetings/november-2025
