We stand with the parents of students who were victims of sexting with at the hands of a teacher at CHS and the decision of the Superintendent of Schools in recommending the termination of that teacher despite the teacher's resignation before being terminated and despite the opinion of those whose actions are to create and support domestic terrorism in Florida's Gateway and in our schools.  Allowing this man to return to CHS is a disgrace and a slap in the face to each parent and student at the school.  Domestic Terrorism cannot survive if we stand against its efforts to use fear to control us. Our children should not be forced into subjection with adults who have abused their power and had inappropriate sexual relationships with other children.  Domestic Terrorism aims to control us through fear and one can imagine the fear any student would have when a teacher who violated them and was recommended for termination but instead resigned is allowed to return.  One cringes at knowing what might run through the minds of those students knowing the teacher who abused them is endorsed by the same individual who boast about being a self-proclaimed land developer, entrepreneur, businessman, and philanthropists after serving federal time for a $30 million dollar drug busts, letters of support from elected officials, and on May 15, 2023 - appointed to the Lake City Planning and Zoning Board, holding no degree, no certification, and no gainful employment in all of his life!

Our children should not be subjected to the fear this man has garnered from extortion, defamation, attempted murder, and collaboration with elected officials and members of the judicial system to ensure safe haven to his and now their crimes.  Our children should not be subjected to the ongoing disrespect, abuse, and assault of law enforcement by domestic terrorism and then sent to schools where the same law enforcement officers are expected to keep them safe.
