Petition to Protest Against child sexual abuse in Omaha Nebraska
The Issue
My name is a voice for the silent and the unheard. I myself am a survivor of sexual abuse, in Omaha Nebraska an experience that happened in my early life and still torments me. Today, I suffer from PTSD, a painful reminder of the past that refuses to fade away. This traumatic experience is a prevailing problem in society, that leaves innocent children scarred for a lifetime. It's time we take a stand. Its time to protest.
Child sexual abuse is a crisis of disturbing proportions. Studies indicate that approximately one in five girls and one in 20 boys is a victim of child sexual abuse in the United States (U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, 2017). This alarming rate has often left victims to deal with long-lasting effects, such as PTSD, like in my case. Yet, the consequences for perpetrators are often minimal, creating a circle of abuse that continues unhampered.
We're calling on the government to implement stricter penalties for those guilty of child sexual abuse. This crime should not be taken lightly or dismissed. Those who commit such crimes should feel the weight of their actions, deterring potential offenders and serving justice to the victims.
Just as it's significant for me, revamping the consequences for child sexual abuse and giving victims the justice they deserve is critical to countless others suffering in silence. We ask for your support in demanding this change in our justice system. Please sign this petition, voice your concern, and join us in underlining the condemnation of such heinous acts. Together, let's bring about a change that can prevent further victimization. Lets protest together for the unheard.
