Last call for signatures and how to continue the conversation
Thank you for your support of our community's well-being. This petition was never about opposing progress or a political agenda. It was about citizens being aware before decisions with long term consequences are made. It was a call to action to ensure residents shared their voices at a crucial time to do so.
Tomorrow I am closing this petition, because in my opinion - it accomplished its goal. I wanted to make Addison citizens aware and to have a voice if they wished to share it. Therefore, if you know of anyone else that would like to sign - please have them do so by the end of the day. (I will download the names and share them with staff and council.)
Because of you - council conversations were had about plan modifications based on resident feedback and a citizen advisory considered. I did not hear anything publicly said about an independent health study or an updated 150 noise study other than by Councilman Liscio.
If you care about a health impact study being done - PLEASE THANK COUNCIL MEMBER DAN LISCIO for being the only member who publicly stated during the last council meeting it would be good to have an independent health study done as a baseline for future decisions. dliscio@addisontx.gov (I did want to know why we do not have an updated NEM with noise contours out to 55dB instead of the base 65 - so perhaps if that is something you would like as well you could mention in your future conversations.)
I would also like to thank AIRPORT MASTER PLAN COMMITTEE MEMBER ELIZABETH JONES - who has worked very hard on our behalf. She truly cares about the wellbeing of the community. She exemplifies what an appointed committee member should be - SPEAKING UP and LOOKING OUT for the PEOPLE. If you see Ms. Jones - PLEASE THANK HER for her MANY hours and dedication to being the voice of the people who live here. She attended ALL the meetings - read the materials - and came prepared with hard questions on our behalf - all for $0 and for 0 benefit to her health. She deserves a spa day.
The Addison Airport Master Plan will continue to shape conversations about our community, our neighborhoods, and our quality of life for years to come. Decisions involving aircraft activity, noise, environmental impacts, transportation, and future development deserve careful consideration and an informed public.
At the same time, the Town is considering other long-range planning documents, including the Transportation Plan which is going before council Tuesday night July 28th - 7pm - 15600 Addison Rd . An important thing to note is that this is going to be an ORDINANCE approval into law not a policy guidance document.
Regardless of where you stand on these issues, I encourage every resident to understand what these plans say, when they will be implemented, and how the decisions today will affect our future.
Please don't assume someone else is paying attention. As I close this petition, I do so knowing that an online petition can only accomplish so much. One person can only do so much, and there will always be those who try to twist the intention of those who do have concerns.
Read the documents. Attend Town Council and Planning & Zoning meetings. Ask questions. Share your thoughts with your elected officials before important votes are taken—not afterward. https://www.addisonairportmasterplan.com/
Whether you agreed with every point in this petition or simply believed that these issues deserved more discussion, thank you for taking the time to participate. Your signature demonstrated that community involvement still matters.
This petition is closing for now, but the conversation should not. The future of Addison will not be determined by a petition—it will be determined by residents who stay informed, remain engaged, and continue participating in the decisions that shape our town. Where to go from here?

Thank you for caring about Addison. As much as I have had disappointments and frustrations over my 20 years here - I care about this community's wellbeing more than you will ever know. As hopeless as things may seem watching the news - together we can make a difference in our little part of the world.
