Hello All,
I wanted to share a Monday update. This morning I met with Addison's Airport Director Jaime Edrosa. He is very open to any discussion or email. The airport administration building is open to the public to see operations and to schedule a meeting with Mr. Edrosa. We had a long visit and discussed many topics including the independent health impact assessment that has not been conducted - not just as a baseline for the airport but for all areas of Addison before planning future growth. We also discussed a standing citizens' airport committee since the FAA will only receive citizen feedback directly from citizens and not through the town staff. We discussed how all areas of Addison should be represented on this committee. Regarding FAA approving studies and committing to flight paths - that is at a higher level.
I spoke today with Mr. Brennan Sierra, who met with me on behalf of Senator Tan Parker who is the Chair of the Texas Senate Committee on Transportation as well as our District 12 representative. I asked, if the FAA is monitoring how many aircraft they can fit in the airspace above our heads - who is monitoring the threshold of aircraft allowed above our heads for the noise, safety, and pollution impact to the Texans on the ground below? I told him that Addison residents and other North Texans have not only the Addison Airport - but traffic from Love, DFW, soon McKinney's expansion, etc. The boundaries of the impacts are not just within one airport's jurisdiction - the flight paths intersect and affect many. As Texas is growing I sent a request for a threshold for air traffic, more advocacy for the citizens on the ground, and analysis of health impacts not only for Addison but for all of North Texas. Many of our noise complaints are not from Addison, but from Southwest and Love. I include some of my asks to him below.

Texas has become one of the nation’s greatest economic success stories. As aviation activity continues to grow across North Texas, Texans deserve to understand the long-term impacts on our communities, health, and quality of life.
Key Questions
• Who is monitoring the cumulative impacts of aviation on Texans?
• Who is measuring noise, air pollution, and ultrafine particles across multiple airports?
• Has Texas ever conducted a comprehensive Aviation Health Impact Assessment?
• What is the carrying capacity of North Texas skies?
• How will drones, air taxis, and autonomous aircraft affect our communities over the next 20 years?

Legislative Requests
1. Establish a Texas Aviation Health Task Force.
2. Conduct the first North Texas Aviation Health Impact Assessment in partnership with Texas universities and medical institutions.
3. Require resident advisory boards and independent community health impact assessments for airports receiving state funding.
4. Implement a statewide aviation noise, air quality, and environmental monitoring network.
5. Request Congressional and FAA review of cumulative aviation impacts in metropolitan regions.
6. Study the long-term carrying capacity of North Texas airspace and communities.
7. Evaluate how modern flight path technology can minimize impacts on residential areas whenever safely possible.
8. Develop statewide standards for transparency and public engagement regarding airport expansion projects.
