We’re writing with deep gratitude to share this powerful news: the eviction case against us has officially been dismissed.
This outcome was made possible because of you—over 360 of you have signed, shared, and spoken out. Your voices helped bring attention, urgency, and community power to this effort.
We want to give special thanks to Elena Popp and the Eviction Defense Network (EDN) for organizing our legal defense and standing with us in court. With their support—and the energy this petition helped create—the landlord agreed to voluntarily dismiss the case.
But this is just the first step in a much larger fight.
The landlord has expressed openness to selling the property to us—but now we must work to make that vision a reality. We are actively reaching out to Community Land Trusts (CLTs), nonprofit partners, and ethical lenders to explore a path toward community ownership and permanent affordability.
To do that, we need to show that public support for this project is real and growing—which is why we are still gathering signatures. We’ll be presenting this petition to CLTs, housing organizations, and funders as part of our case for preserving Honey Hill.
If you haven’t already shared the petition, please do—and if you can reshare, now is the time.
Honey Hill has been a creative and cultural sanctuary in El Sereno for over 20 years. This community just won the first battle—and with your continued support, we believe we can win the whole fight.
With love and gratitude,
—Yesenia, Joel, Mia & the Honey Hill Community
