Recently, a Zoning By-law Amendment application was submitted to add additional uses to 743 Wellington Road. The application states, among other things, that "the subject lands are intended to become a potential 'Hub' locations as part of the 'London's Health & Homelessness Response: Proposed Hubs Implementation Plan" and that the "...proposed Zoning By-law Amendment will allow for the existing building to become equipped with the necessary facilities to appropriately serve London's community members currently experiencing homelessness."

While London desperately needs solution to the homelessness crisis, the re-zoning of 743 Wellington Road and imposition of a "Homeless Hub" directly impacts our community. With the inevitable increase in disturbances, foot traffic, noise levels, and sanitation issues, the tranquility and security we have all worked to build will erode. Businesses will leave, property values will decline and most importantly our families will feel unsafe.

We must act now. With the rezoning nearing, now is the time for us to voice our opposition and fight for alternative solutions. Delaying action could result in irreversible changes to our community, impacting generations to come. It's imperative that we unite and advocate for community before it's too late.
