The Issue

Our Plea to Superintendent Kevin Hendricks and the Pinellas County School Board

John M Sexton Elementary has been a cornerstone of our community for generations, providing a nurturing and educational environment for countless children. It is more than just a school; its a vibrant hub where students learn, grow, and form lifelong friendships. The potential closure of this cherished institution would be a devastating loss, not only to the students and families directly affected but to the staff and entire fabric of our neighborhood.

We, the undersigned, implore the school board to reconsider any plans that would lead to the closure of John M Sexton Elementary. Our school offers a unique and invaluable contribution to our community, and its closure would disrupt the educational continuity of our children, displace  our dedicated beloved teachers and  staff, and diminish the spirit of our neighborhood.

We believe that with community support and creative solutions, we can find a way to keep John M. Sexton Elementary open and thriving for years to come. We urge you to explore all possible alternatives and to work collaboratively with parents, educators, and community members to secure the future of our school.
