Update petisiPetition to initiate RECALL of SEA President Ibijoke Idowu-Holiday

AUGUST 30 UPDATE: 917 SIGNATURES — TRUST THE RANK AND FILE

SEA MembersSeattle, WA, Amerika Serikat
30 Agu 2026

We may be days away from a strike, and members are still asking a very basic question:

What exactly are we striking over?

SPS has published its numbers and proposals. SEA says they are full of “half-truths and dizzying spin.”

Okay. Show us the other half.

Members are asking:

“They can’t even provide a simple infographic. Or proof.”
And:

“Where is this SPED stuff coming from? Show us the exact language and dates.”
These are legitimate questions.

What happened to the working-longer-for-no-pay proposal? Was it dropped?

What exactly is the dispute over professional development and planning time?

When did this massive Special Education restructuring become a central strike issue?

Show us the SPS language. Show us SEA’s proposal. Show us what remains unresolved.

Give members one simple comparison:

SPS OFFER | SEA PROPOSAL | REMAINING DIFFERENCE

SEA leadership is not the union. The rank and file ARE the union.

Effective leadership rallies the rank and file; it doesn't leave the rank and file confused, defensive, or afraid to question leadership.

That is also why the leadership crisis matters. We don't have to keep relitigating every allegation surrounding Ibijoke Idowu to ask a much simpler question:

Is her continued leadership making SEA stronger at the bargaining table—or weaker?

Meanwhile, the recall petition has reached 917 signatures.

Those 917 people aren't attacking SEA.

THEY ARE SEA.

Give members the information.

Honor the bylaws.

Trust the rank and file.

LET THE MEMBERS VOTE.
