We, the undersigned residents, commuters, and concerned individuals, call upon the Town of Sturbridge, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT), and our state legislators to immediately address the extremely dangerous conditions at the intersection of Route 20 and New Boston Road in Sturbridge, Massachusetts.

This intersection has become a PUBLIC SAFETY HAZARD, with daily near-miss crashes, dangerous turning movements, excessive vehicle speeds, poor visibility, and unsafe conditions for drivers and pedestrians alike. We are gravely concerned that without urgent action, this intersection will become the site of a fatal accident.

We respectfully demand that the Town of Sturbridge and MassDOT take the  following actions as soon as possible:
- Conduct a FULL TRAFFIC AND SAFETY STUDY at the intersection.
- Install a TRAFFIC SIGNAL or other control devices to manage flow and reduce crashes.
- Add PROTECTED LEFT-TURN LANES AND SIGNALS.
- Improve SIGNAGE AND LIGHTING.
- Install PEDESTRIAN CROSSWALKS AND SIGNALS to protect people crossing Route 20.

We believe the safety of our community must be a top priority, and we urge immediate action before
a preventable tragedy occurs.
