We, the undersigned, are concerned parents, students, and community members who are requesting that Elizabeth Public Schools take immediate action to ensure the safety and well-being of students during physical activities in JVJ STEM Academy’s gym. Recently, several students, have been impacted by the extreme heat in the gym.
The lack of a safe gym environment impacts students’ overall well-being and prevents them from making the most of these important learning and development opportunities. Inaction can harm their academic and physical progress.
With warmer months approaching, the gym’s heat will only worsen. Now is the time to act before the conditions become even more unbearable and unsafe. By addressing this issue immediately, we can ensure a comfortable, safe environment for all students to participate in physical activities without fear of heat-related illness. Let’s take action now to protect our students’ health and improve their school experience.

We ask the school to:

1.  Install cooling systems or portable fans in the gym to regulate temperature.
2.  Provide regular breaks during physical activities.
3. Ensure that proper ventilation is in place to maintain a safe learning environment.
