There have been so many accidents at this intersection located in Poinciana. So many lives have been claimed due to reckless driving! I am talking about the intersection at San Miguel Rd. and Laurel Ave. in Village 1 of Poinciana. 

On 09/03/2023 an irresponsible 15-year-old minor decided to take a joy ride with his friends and at a high rate of speed decided to run a stop sign at this intersection. As a result of his recklessness, he crashed into another vehicle that was being driven by a Mother/Grandmother, her husband who was in the passenger seat, and worst of all; three kids aged 11, 9, and 1 were in the back seat. 

All 3 children did not survive the impact including the grandmother. Her husband was in critical condition in an area hospital. This is extremely sad and I'm tearing up just typing this. There needs to be change in Poinciana but let's start here. First and foremost please help the parents who are suffering the worst loss anyone can endure by contributing to their GoFundMe. But please let's get this petition signed for change. We need to have a traffic light installed at this intersection. Too many lives have been lost and we need to start somewhere. Although this is a small step toward making big changes needed in Poinciana. #itstoomuch 

Poinciana is know for a high number of fatal crashes due to reckless driving and this needs to be put under control. This is a small start. There needs to be safer roads, more speed bumps, more traffic lights, more police presence.
