The Issue

For over one year, clean potable water has been flowing nonstop on the streets of Anna Enclave, Injambakkam. What was repeatedly brushed off as rainwater continues even today despite no rainfall for over a month, clearly indicating a broken underground water pipeline that remains unattended.

This is not a minor civic issue. Chennai endured a severe droughts not long ago, where residents struggled for basic water access. Allowing precious drinking water to be wasted day after day reflects shocking administrative apathy under the current civic setup led by Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.

Result of this prolonged neglect:

Thousands of litres of drinking water are wasted daily
Roads are completely destroyed due to continuous waterlogging
Vehicles suffer repeated damage
Pedestrians, including children and senior citizens cannot walk safely
Multiple complaints have received no inspection and no repair.

Residents feel abandoned.

With state elections approaching, this locality stands as a living example of governance failure at the grassroots level. Please sign and share this petition to demand accountability and protect Chennai’s precious drinking water.
