As all of you are aware, on Oct 6, 2022 my boyfriend Jon Downey was killed trying to remove debris from a road after hitting a deer. He was well off the road and a driver veered to miss the debris and hit Jon and killed him.  There are no lights nor are there any speed limit signs for the entire length of the road. The speed limit is 45. The driver was doing 70 along with almost all the drivers on this road.  I believe if there was lights in this area and speed limit signs, this could have been avoided. I don’t want Jon to have died in vein. Please assist me with signing this petition so that I can deliver it to NC Dept of Transportation along with the every person that has any pull in this county.
