We, the undersigned, call for Massachusetts to eliminate the practice of Daylight Saving Time (DST) and remain on Standard Time year-round.

Proposed Action

We urge Massachusetts to:

• Petition the U.S. Department of Transportation for an exemption to remain on permanent Standard Time.
• Coordinate with neighboring states (Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island) for a regional approach.If necessary, request Congress to amend the Uniform Time Act to allow states to opt out of DST without additional federal approval.
• We believe eliminating DST will improve public health, safety, and economic stability in Massachusetts. We urge lawmakers to act on this matter swiftly.
