We the undersigned call on the Board of Directors of the Okanagan Symphony Society to reverse their decision to terminate the employment of Rosemary Thomson, Music Director and Conductor of the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra (OSO).

We the undersigned further call on the Board of Directors of the Okanagan Symphony Society to consider the relationships OSO patrons, musicians, and the many community organizations and members have with Rosemary Thomson, and the negative impact and ramification this reckless action will have within our music communities.

We the undersigned further call on the Board of Directors of the Okanagan Symphony Society to consider the damage this unwarranted decision will create between the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra and their patrons, musicians, youth, disability advocacy groups, Indigenous and other community relationships. 

We the undersigned further call on the Board of Directors of the Okanagan Symphony Society to reinstate Rosemary Thomson’s employment immediately, as their decision to terminate her employment prior to her retirement at the end of this OSO season does not represent the wants and needs of the community in which the Okanagan Symphony Society exists to serve, nor does it hold the Okanagan Symphony Society true to it’s stated Mission and Values.
