New petition "Save Ireland's from extinction going well"...and even more important now that pro-hare coursing politcians of the ruling government party "Fine Gael" are bringing huge pressure to bear on the Minister who has imposed a ban on the capture of hares for coursing. She imposed the ban in response to outbreaks of the deadly RHD2 virus that is fatal to hares and rabbits.
So, not only do those uncaring politicians wish to have hare coursing resume in the Irish countryside, knowing how cruel it is to hares (they are mauled, have their bones crushed, and are horribly injured in other ways in the "sport"), but they are demanding its resumption DESPITE being aware of a severe threat to the very survival of the Irish Hare as a species: The disease can be easily spread in the kind of unnatural conditions to which hares are subjected when captured by coursing clubs.
All the more vital then that Ireland's Heritage Minister receives as many messages as possible via this petition (she and other Irish government officials receive an email every time it is signed) asking that she maintain the ban on capture of hares for coursing and make it permanent...to end the barbaric cruelty and save the gentle hare from the rapidly spreading disease.
Here is the petition again...you can help by sharing it with a friend or just telling someone else about it.
Thank you!
