We have surpassed 1400 signatures in the few weeks that the petition has been online. 36 countries are represented in the signatures. This is very impressive. But I know we can do more! Please share the link through emails, Facebook, X, or Instagram. Share in any way that you can. Since we do not have press coverage the only way to increase our signature base is word of mouth. We must all act together to spread the word!
Since my last message there have been several updates to the petition. Very interesting and thought-provoking comments have been posted by Jon Dunn, Steve Howell, Gary Rosenberg, and Chris Gooddie from the U.K. A link has been provided to a great article by Rohan Pethiyagoda from Sri Lanka. If you haven't looked lately, check out the main petition text where all these links are located. Directing people to these comments and articles might make a difference.
Please stress that we are asking the AOS to use a case-by-case basis to remove eponymous names that are deemed offensive. The petition supports this action. What we object to is the sweeping edict by the AOS to remove all eponymous names.
Please share the link! Let's keep the momentum going. https://chng.it/VHyjZp5snr
