Announcing Virtual Town Hall to Share Survey Results

Russell AlexanderToronto, Canada
May 11, 2023

As we mentioned in a previous update, Professors Nicholas Bala (Queen’s Law), Rachel Birnbaum (Social Work at Kings University College - Western) and Claire Houston (Law at Western) are undertaking a survey to help understand the experiences of family lawyers as a result of the pandemic and the adoption of virtual technology in family court. The survey can be completed in less than 15 minutes, though there is space for more extensive comments. We expect that the survey can help inform the discussion surrounding presumptive hearings in family courts in Ontario.

If you have not done so already, we encourage you to share your views anonymously through this survey before it closes on Friday, May 12th:

We are pleased to announce the next phase, which will be to share the results of this survey through a Virtual Town Hall on Wednesday, June 28 at 12 noon ET, hosted by the Ad Hoc Committee on Access to Family Justice, along with Professors Bala, Birnbaum and Houston. Register here.

We would like to extend our gratitude and appreciation once again to all our supporters who continue to encourage and promote these issues and efforts.

Help us spread the word by sharing the petition with your colleagues, family, and friends.
