Residents around Gloucester Street, Irvine Street and Brinsley avenue met with Warren Kirby and Ahalya Rentala on 9th Sept to discuss range of issues described in the petition for nearly 2 hours. We thank both Warren and Ahalya for their time at such short notice.
The short answer that we got from Warren is not much can be done about the development already approved (by previous govt) such as 1300 units planned across Junction road (Top place) or 470 approved on 23-27 Schofields road or any others already approved. In addition the heights of these apartments will go up by 2 stories as they will accommodate affordable housing.
Also got to know that development won't stop here - there will be massive increase in population in Schofields Tallawong and Riverstone and infrastructure such as parks or school or hospital will take its own pace which is usually lagging the population growth.
So unsurprisingly nothing much to change on the ground.
One thing which was repeatedly called out was to always send email to him @riverstone@parliament.nsw.gov.au with our concerns - that will help him in representing our case with other departments such as transport or health etc.
So ppl please continue to sign this petition to raise awareness and send your concerns via email to your MP, councillor and Mayor.
