The petition is now supported by 9,238 people. It's a tremendous achievement that demonstrates just how unhappy people are with the NICE guideline and the decision by NICE to take no action in the current review.
As NICE extended their own deadline - allowing more time for stakeholders to respond - and because our supporters were asking for more time to share the petition amongst friends and colleagues, we decided we could now afford to close the petition on Friday 21st July at 5pm.
In other news, you might be interested to learn that Dr Keith Geraghty has presented his analysis of the 2015 ME Association Illness Management Survey, at a science conference in Warwick yesterday.
Among other things it provides an endorsement of what we have been saying about reported patient experiences of CBT, GET and Pacing. We wanted an independent analysis in order that these results could be published and become an important part of the literature.
Also, we have announced additional funding for Dr Geraghty so that he might critically examine the theoretical basis and clinical application of CBT and GET in the NHS.
