Pétition au ministre de l'Éducation du Québec, Bernard Drainville Notre planète a été considérablement impactée par l'activité humaine. Les gaz à effet de serre produits par l'activité humaine ont fait monter la température de la surface du globe à des niveaux sans précédent (Vieira et al., 2023). Le changement climatique étant un symptôme de l'activité humaine, il est en notre pouvoir d'en atténuer, voire d'en inverser les effets. L'éducation est un facteur essentiel de ce renversement, car la connaissance aide les jeunes à comprendre et à combattre les causes et les conséquences du réchauffement climatique en les encourageant à modifier leurs comportements et à s'adapter à l'urgence mondiale (UNESCO, 2025). Nous, citoyens ou résidents du Québec soussignés, vous demandons d'accroître l'éducation sur les changements climatiques (du primaire au collégial) à dix heures par élève. Cette éducation devrait inclure les faits scientifiques sur les changements climatiques, les mesures à prendre pour en atténuer les effets et encourager les élèves à diffuser l'information et à lutter contre les changements climatiques.

Our planet has been substantially impacted by humans. Greenhouse gases produced by human activity have risen the global surface temperature to unprecedented levels (Vieira, et al, 2023). As climate change is a symptom of human activity, it is within our power to mitigate and even reverse its effects. Education is an essential factor in this reversal, as knowledge helps young people understand and combat the cause and consequences of global warming by encouraging them to change their behaviour and to adapt to the global emergency (UNESCO, 2025).

We, the undersigned citizens or residents of the Province of Québec call upon you to increase the education on climate change (from elementary level to CEGEP level) to ten hours for every student. This education should include the scientific facts about climate change, actions to take which can mitigate the effects of global warming and encourage students to spread information to others and also encourage them to fight against climate change.
