The Issue

We, the undersigned residents and property owners of Cobb County, formally submit this petition in STRICT OPPOSITION to the proposed zoning changes and site improvements for Case OB-16-2026 in relation to

Location: 3100 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta, GA 30062

Subject: Proposed Walmart Drone Hub (Kiosk, Fencing, and Drone Nest)

Our opposition is based on the following community concerns:

Loss of Local Control: Approval of this zoning change effectively cedes future regulatory authority over flight times, paths, and noise levels to the FAA, leaving the County without the power to protect residents from 24-hour operations.

Safety and Privacy: The operation of 10lb drones at 60mph at altitudes as low as 20–150 feet poses significant safety risks to residents and compromises the privacy of our homes and backyards.

Negative Impact on Quality of Life: The constant noise and visual intrusion of frequent drone deliveries (occurring within a 6 mile radius from the site and potential to go farther) will degrade the suburban character and residential peace of our neighborhoods.  This is primarily a residential area with a few blocks that are commercial.

Property Value Concerns: The introduction of a commercial drone "nest" and high-frequency flight paths near residential areas is expected to negatively impact property values.

We respectfully urge the Board of Commissioners to DENY Case OB-16-2026 to preserve the safety, privacy, and character of our community.
