We, the undersigned residents, landowners, and stakeholders of Dearborn County, Indiana, respectfully submit this petition to express our opposition to the development and installation of commercial-scale solar energy systems within Dearborn County.

While we recognize the importance of responsible energy development, we believe that large-scale commercial solar facilities pose significant concerns that outweigh their potential benefits when sited in our county.

Our concerns include the permanent or long-term loss of productive agricultural land, adverse impacts to rural character and scenic landscapes, potential reduction in neighboring property values, environmental and drainage issues, increased strain on roads and emergency services, and limited long-term economic benefit to Dearborn County residents. 

The undersigned residents respectfully and urgently petition our county officials to enact an immediate and indefinitely termed moratorium on the approval and development of large-scale commercial solar energy systems (SES).
