Petition for Immediate and Safe Disclosure of the Disappearance of Mahjabeen Baloch and Younus Baloch

Dear concerned citizens, 

We urgently call for justice and accountability regarding the enforced disappearance of Mahjabeen Baloch, a Baloch student, and her brother, Younus Baloch, in Balochistan.

It has now been one month since Mahjabeen was forcibly disappeared on 29 May by personnel of state agencies from the Civil Hospital Quetta. She was detained without any legal warrant and taken to an undisclosed location. Similarly, her brother Younus was detained by security forces from their home in Basima a week prior, and his whereabouts remain unknown.

Despite the passage of time, neither Mahjabeen nor Younus has been presented before any court, constituting a serious violation of their fundamental human rights. Their enforced disappearances are a stark violation of international human rights standards and demand immediate action.

We demand that the authorities:
1. Immediately disclose the whereabouts of Mahjabeen Baloch and Younus Baloch.

2. Ensure their safe and unconditional release.

3. Allow their families and legal representatives access to them.

4. Conduct transparent investigations into their disappearances.

5. Hold accountable any personnel involved in their enforced disappearances.

We believe that if either individual is accused of any wrongdoing, they must be brought before a court of law and afforded due process, rather than being held incommunicado.

We urge the authorities to prioritise human rights and uphold justice by taking swift action to resolve this matter. Please sign this petition today.
