PETITION FOR URGENT CIVIC INTERVENTION Sector 22, 23 & 24 Rohini
PETITION FOR URGENT CIVIC INTERVENTION Sector 22, 23 & 24 Rohini
The Issue
Date: July 26, 2026
To:
1. The Hon’ble Chief Minister, Government of NCT of Delhi
2. The Hon’ble Mayor, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD)
3. The Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA), Bawana Constituency
4. The Hon’ble Municipal Councillor, Rohini (Sectors 22, 23, & 24 Ward)
Subject: Urgent appeal for immediate redressal of critical civic issues—Irregular water supply, deteriorating road conditions, poor sanitation, and severe traffic congestion in Sectors 22, 23, and 24, Rohini.
Respected Sir/Madam,
We, the residents of Sectors 22, 23, and 24, Rohini, Delhi, are writing this petition to bring to your immediate attention the appalling state of civic infrastructure and basic services in our area. It is deeply distressing and disheartening that living in the national capital, we are continuously deprived of fundamental amenities that constitute a dignified urban life.
Despite multiple informal complaints made to local authorities in the past, no concrete action has been taken. We urge you to look into the following four critical crises plaguing our sectors:
1. Severe Water Scarcity (Alternate Day Supply)
The Issue: Water is supplied to our sectors only on alternate days instead of a daily basis.
The Impact: Water is a basic daily necessity. Receiving it once every two days disrupts household chores, creates severe storage challenges, and forces families to live under constant uncertainty. In the capital city of India, such basic utility failure is unacceptable.
2. Dilapidated Road Infrastructure
The Issue: The internal and connecting roads across Sectors 22, 23, and 24 are in a shambles. They are riddled with deep potholes, have uneven surfaces, and have suffered from total neglect and lack of maintenance.
The Impact: These damaged roads pose a constant hazard to commuters, pedestrians, senior citizens, and school children, frequently leading to accidents and vehicular damage, especially during the monsoon season.
3. Pervasive Garbage and Poor Sanitation
The Issue: Roads and public spaces are heavily littered, with garbage accumulated openly in multiple spots due to irregular sweeping and lack of proper waste management enforcement.
The Impact: This creates unhygienic conditions, foul odors, and serves as a breeding ground for mosquitoes and stray animals, posing a direct threat to public health.
4. Traffic Congestion and Absence of Regulation
The Issue: There is heavy, unregulated traffic movement on our roads, compounded by a complete lack of traffic police deployment or functional traffic signals.
The Impact: Commuting has become a nightmare. It routinely takes 15 to 30 minutes just to travel from Sector 24 to Rithala during peak hours—a short distance that should take a fraction of that time. The chaos creates severe stress, air pollution, and safety risks for daily commuters.
Our Demands:
We earnestly appeal to your esteemed offices to coordinate and take swift, time-bound action on the following fronts:
Restore daily water supply to Sectors 22, 23, and 24 with adequate pressure.
Initiate immediate repair, re-carpeting, and leveling of all damaged roads and potholes.
Deploy dedicated sanitation teams for regular garbage clearance and strict monitoring of cleanliness standards.
Install traffic signals and deploy traffic police personnel at critical congestion points to streamline movement between Sector 24 and Rithala.
We hope that the administration will recognize our plight and act promptly to restore our faith in local governance. We await an urgent positive response and on-ground action.
Yours faithfully,
Residents of Sectors 22, 23, and 24, Rohini, Delhi
