Unfortunately the RSPCA and Cats’ Protection have acknowledged that there are rescue cafes like ourselves but that they still don’t agree with what we do. There are concerns that a “rolling population” causes the cats stress. (Because big shelters are so stress free). Also, that it’s a breeding ground for cat flu etc. (This is hugely untrue. The only time we end up with cat flu is when the cats from bigger shelters bring it with them. They are then segregated until recovered). The original aim of the petition has been met, however.
