We, the undersigned residents, commuters, and concerned citizens, are writing to express our deep concerns about the current state of Kwinana Freeway State route 2 in both direction  [Aubin grove - Baldivis ; 20 km] . We believe that the expansion of this highway to a three-lane road is essential to address the growing traffic congestion and enhance the safety and efficiency of our transportation system.

Kwinana freeway is a critical transportation artery in our community, serving as a major route for daily commuters, businesses, and emergency services. However, in recent years, the traffic on this road has increased significantly, leading to numerous problems, including:

1.    Traffic Congestion: The two-lane configuration is no longer sufficient to accommodate the increasing number of vehicles during peak hours. This congestion results in long delays for commuters, hampering productivity and causing unnecessary stress.

2.    Safety Concerns: The current road design often leads to unsafe driving conditions, particularly during rush hours. With limited opportunities for passing slower vehicles and reduced visibility, accidents and near misses have become alarmingly frequent. ( **according to crash reports data - Perth top 5 major hot spots is between Baldivis - wellard section **) 

3.    Economic Impact: Expanding to three lanes will stimulate economic growth in the region by facilitating the efficient transportation of goods and people. It will encourage business development and daily commuter, which will benefit our community and the local economy.

4.    Environmental Impact: The stop-and-go traffic caused by congestion not only wastes fuel but also increases emissions, contributing to air pollution and harm to our environment.

We urge the Department of Transportation to undertake a urgent comprehensive study of the feasibility and benefits of expanding  to a three-lane highway in both direction .

In conclusion, the expansion of  to a three-lane road ( both direction) is essential including improved safety, reduced travel times, increased economic opportunities, and a positive impact on the environment. We look forward to your support and collaboration in addressing this issue.
