Petition for Regulation of Gender Identity Designation

The issue

We, the undersigned, hereby petition for the enactment of legislation that restricts the identification of individuals as "Furries" or any designation outside the recognized biological classifications of male and female. It is our stance that any individual who wishes to identify as anything other than the biological definitions of male or female must undergo a recognized surgical procedure—either male to female or female to male—resulting in a scientifically established alteration of their external anatomy assigned at birth.

This petition acknowledges that individuals born intersex, with biological characteristics that cannot be distinctly classified as male or female, are exempt from this requirement.

Furthermore, we advocate for clarity in the understanding of gender identity; those who choose to identify outside of male, female, or intersex—without corresponding medical intervention—are expressing a personal preference rather than a recognized or official gender. While we respect the rights of individuals to make personal choices regarding their bodies, we firmly believe that these choices should not be imposed upon others, nor should they necessitate special treatment, acceptance, or understanding beyond the established norms.

We urge lawmakers to consider this petition seriously and to take appropriate measures to ensure that legislation reflect these values.
