The Issue

To the Citizens of Cincinnati and the Hamilton County Board of Elections:

We, the undersigned citizens and qualified voters of the City of Cincinnati, hereby petition for the immediate recall and removal of Council Member Victoria Parks pursuant to Ohio Revised Code § 705.92, which authorizes the removal of any municipal elective officer through a recall election initiated by petition and approved by majority vote.

On or about July 30, 2025, Council Member Parks made public statements regarding a violent mob attack in downtown Cincinnati, in which several white citizens— including a white woman rendered unconscious — were brutally beaten in what authorities are investigating as a hate crime. In response to this horrific event, Parks stated that the victims "begged for it," a comment that displays blatant racial hostility, a shocking disregard for public safety, and a fundamental failure of moral leadership.

Such rhetoric is racist, inflammatory, and unbecoming of an elected official entrusted to represent all citizens of Cincinnati, regardless of race or background. Parks’s remarks have further divided our community at a time when healing, accountability, and equal justice under the law are needed most.

We, the undersigned, demand her immediate removal from office. By signing this petition, we assert that Victoria Parks has forfeited the trust of the people and must no longer hold a position of authority or influence in Cincinnati city government.
