The loss of Fry's Electronics in our beloved Wilsonville, OR has resonated deeply among the electronics enthusiasts and tech professionals in our community. As residents of the Portland metro area, we understood the value that this multi-discipline electronics store brought to our daily lives and work. Having a one stop shop for all things tech, has become sorely missed.

Fry's Electronics' impact on our community was such that it catered not just to tech enthusiasts but also provided critical resources for tech professionals and students alike - a hub of learning, innovation, and convenience. However, with Fry's Electronics' closure, a void has been created that desperately needs to be filled. Places like Best Buy are great for consumer products, but are lacking when it comes to the more DIY crowd, that is where Fry's or Micro Center shine. Offering a wide range of tech products, from printers and AV equipment to soldering irons and 3D printers, and everything in between.

In light of this, we propose that Micro Center Computers and Electronics, a renowned name in providing a wide array of electronics, takes up the mantle and work with the people of Wilsonville and the greater portland metro area to bring a location to Oregon. As of 2020, Micro Center operates 25 stores nationwide, and an expansion into the former Fry's Electronics premises at 29400 Town Center Loop W, Wilsonville, OR 97070, presents a mutually beneficial opportunity. 

As a community, we believe that Micro Center aligns with our needs, and its presence would fill the void left since the departure of Fry's Electronics. A Multi Disiplinary Electronics retail store, with a wide range of products. We seek support from all stakeholders, including fellow Oregonians, customers, tech enthusiasts, and the wider public to assert the demand for a new, committed electronics retailer in our neighborhood. 

Therefore, our request is simple - we petition that our voices be recognized and actions be taken to encourage the management of Micro Center and the parent company Micro Electronics Inc. to consider an expansion into our city.
