🏥 Petition for Fair Parking Access for Nurses at the Women’s & Children’s Hospital (Adl)
The issue
Every day, nurses and frontline healthcare workers at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital dedicate themselves to caring for South Australia’s mothers, babies and children. Despite this vital work, many staff face a daily struggle simply to get to work because the hospital car park is not large enough for everyone. The waitlist for staff discount parking is long, and access is not available fast enough.
As a result, many nurses are forced to pay between fourteen and twenty five dollars a day for street parking. Over a year, this can amount to thousands of dollars taken from hardworking healthcare staff who already face increasing financial pressure during the cost of living crisis.
Nurses and healthcare staff work long and demanding shifts including nights, weekends and public holidays. They provide compassionate and expert care for patients and families during some of the most difficult moments in their lives. These workers should not be penalised with expensive parking costs just to attend their shifts.
We are asking SA Health and the Adelaide City Council to introduce a free street parking permit for rostered nurses and healthcare staff working at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
This change would ease financial stress, improve staff morale and show respect for those who dedicate their lives to caring for others.
Please sign and share this petition to support our nurses at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. We care for your families every day, and now we ask for your support in return.
