The Issue

📌 To the Government of India

We, the citizens of this nation, are immensely proud of our achievements. India has the 3rd largest standing army, is a global leader in space exploration, and continues to maintain one of the fastest growing economies in the world. These accomplishments make us stand tall on the global stage.

But while we celebrate these milestones, we cannot ignore the everyday realities that tarnish our nation’s image abroad and weaken us from within.

Poor civic sense on roads 🚦
Lack of cleanliness and hygiene 🗑️
Disregard for rules and public property 🚫
Weak enforcement of basic standards of morality and discipline

A country’s true strength is not only in its army, technology, or GDP — but also in the civic discipline of its people. We urge the government to:

Launch nation-wide awareness campaigns on civic sense and social responsibility.
Strengthen civic education in schools and universities.
Strictly enforce penalties for littering, vandalism, traffic violations, and public misconduct.
Encourage local community initiatives for cleanliness, orderliness, and moral conduct.

📌 To the People of India

It is easy to compare ourselves with neighboring countries and take pride that we are “better.” But such comparisons are meaningless if we continue to:

Throw garbage on the streets,
Break queues,
Ignore traffic signals,
Show disrespect in public spaces.

True patriotism is not about mocking others — it is about fixing ourselves first. We must accept that while India is rising globally, our everyday behaviour at home is pulling us back.

👉 If we want India to be respected everywhere, we must start with respect for our own streets, our neighbors, our environment, and our shared spaces.

Let us pledge to:

Keep our surroundings clean 🌱
Follow rules responsibly
Act with dignity and kindness in public
Hold ourselves accountable, not just the government

🌍 Final Note

A stronger India will not be built by comparing ourselves with others, but by being honest about our own shortcomings and working to improve them together.

Let us rise as a nation where discipline, civic sense, and responsibility become as much a matter of pride as GDP growth and military strength.
