Petition for Change after 2-Year-Old Drowns in The Woodlands Hills Pool

Petition for Change after 2-Year-Old Drowns in The Woodlands Hills Pool

The Issue

This Petition is a call for CHANGE at The Woodlands Hills following Elizabeth, 2-years-old, found by her mother floating face down DEAD in the pool, only feet away from the Life Guard at The Woodlands Hills Pool on Friday, June 2, 2023.

Elizabeth is in critical condition at Texas Children’s Hospital Pediatric Intensive Care Unit fighting for her life right now. She was found by her mother floating face down DEAD in the pool, only feet away from the Life Guard at The Woodlands Hills community pool, unresponsive, no pulse, not breathing, and blue. CPR and an oxygen machine forced her to conscience before dying on her way to the hospital and being resuscitated once again. She is suffering severe lung damage, internal bleeding, and has coded (died) 7 times at the hospital pediatric ICU. Surgeries, monitoring, medications, and machines are the only way she is staying alive right now. She was transported from The Woodlands to Houston this morning for more intensive intervention to save her life. We are petitioning for change to prevent a tragedy like this from ever happening again to another one of our children in our community.

1 WEEK PRIOR TO THE TRAGEDY OF ELIZABETH:

A photo was taken by a community resident of The Woodlands Hills Pool Life Guard texting on her phone for 20 minutes while small children play just feet away from where Elizabeth drown.

An overwhelming amount of reports from residents of The Woodlands Hills state that life guards are mostly on their phone or socializing with their friends their entire shift.
