We, the undersigned, want Barbering to become a Red Seal Trade.  Hairstylists can obtain a Red Seal License but in order for barbers to be Red Sealed certified they have to be able to execute certain styling techniques, chemical texture services, hair color, hair extensions, wigs, or hairpieces.  These services are not necessarily taught in Barbering Schools or are not offered in the majority of Barbershops, but we could easily structure a Red Seal Exam around the art of Barbering. We could include Fading Haircuts, Skin Fades, Tapers, Classic Scissor Haircut i.e. no clippers, Medium and Longer Length Haircuts, Straight Razor Head Shave, Facial Hair i.e. Beards, Goatees, Moustaches, Full Straight Razor Shave, Beard & Hairline Lineups and Toupees. I believe Barbers should have the same opportunity as Hairstylists to be able to acquire such a license in their craft.
