We, the undersigned, call for the immediate termination of Dan O’Donnell of NewsTalk 1130 WISN following his recent public statement urging people to “take out the Supreme Leader of Minnesota,” referring to Governor Tim Walz.

This language can reasonably be interpreted as advocating violence against an elected official. It is dangerous and unacceptable. Media figures have a responsibility to uphold basic civic standards and to avoid rhetoric that contributes to political hostility or potential harm.

Mr. O’Donnell’s statements appear to endorse violence, undermine democratic norms, and threaten public safety. Such conduct falls far outside the bounds of responsible broadcasting.

We urge iHeartMedia to take immediate action and to publicly reaffirm a commitment to rejecting violent political rhetoric.
