We’ve just passed 1,000 signatures, and I want to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who has taken the time to sign and share this petition.

Although I’m not personally connected to Terrence Cumber or his legal team and do not have any current updates on the case, I started this petition because the facts as publicly available raise serious legal concerns. Terrence was convicted of felony murder and sentenced to life in prison, despite being acquitted of malice murder — a clear indication the jury did not believe there was intent to kill. The shooting occurred in the midst of a volatile and fast-moving confrontation, yet the trial may not have fully addressed key mitigating factors, including the immediacy of Terrence’s actions and the potential context of self-defense.

Your support is helping raise awareness of the potential miscarriage of justice in this case. Every signature brings more visibility to the need for a retrial — one that fully considers the facts, properly applies the law, and ensures that the sentence fits the circumstances.

I remain hopeful that this growing public support will contribute to a fair and thorough review of Terrence’s conviction. A retrial could help ensure not only justice for Terrence, but also reaffirm the principles of proportionality, due process, and fairness that our legal system is meant to uphold.

Please continue to share this petition with others who may want to stand for justice. Your voice matters, and together, we can make a difference.
