The Issue

Starting to collect the Canada Pension Plan (CPP) at age 60 is a choice many make out of necessity. I am one such senior.

Currently, Canadian seniors who begin collecting CPP benefits at 60 are permanently locked into a reduced monthly payment. This system does not account for the changing financial needs and health circumstances that many of us face as we age. When seniors' only option is to accept lower payments for life, it feels like a penalty rather than a benefit we have earned through years of working and contributing to society.

I'm starting this petition to advocate for legislative changes that would adjust the CPP benefit amounts as recipients reach different age milestones. It would allow seniors the flexibility and financial security they deserve by increasing their payments to the levels available to those who start collecting at a later age.

Help change this unjust policy by supporting this petition. Together, we can push for a more equitable solution that fairly adjusts CPP amounts, bringing dignity and improved financial stability to all Canadian seniors. Your signature will make a difference in the lives of many. Please sign this petition today to support a crucial update to our much-valued pension system.

Thank you in advance for your support. Please remember to check your email after signing the petition to validate it or your signature won't be counted.

Kind regards,

Chris
